KIVIDEA, through its dedicated club members trained in life skills, GBV prevention, and SRH, successfully organized an interschool awareness campaign aimed at empowering youth to recognize and prevent gender-based violence (GBV). The event emphasized the importance of collaborative measures to protect youth, provide support for survivors, and ensure accountability for perpetrators of violence.
The campaign brought together over 1,300 students from various schools, including Kigoma Ujiji Secondary, Benjamin William Primary, Katubuka Secondary, Buteko Secondary, Bangwe Primary, and Kitwe Secondary, at Kitwe Secondary on 28 November 2024. Through peer-to-peer engagement, the participants are expected to reach an additional 3,900 youth in their communities.
“Fellow youth, parents, and guardians, let us join hands with teachers to safeguard the wellbeing of children and youth.” – Rhoda Adriano, Field Officer, KIVIDEA.
