A youth-led idea that began in Kigoma in 1999 and grew into a registered Tanzanian NGO.
In 1999, young people in Kigoma came together to help children and peers facing difficult circumstances. KIVIDEA grew from that effort, and young people still guide our work.

How KIVIDEA grew from a youth association into a registered NGO.
1999
A group of young people in Kigoma town formed KIVIDEA to help children and other young people in their community.
2000
The youth association was formally registered to work with children and marginalised young people in Kigoma Region.
2018
KIVIDEA registered under the Non-Governmental Organizations Act and extended its mandate across Tanzania Mainland.
2023
A new ten-year certificate of registration was issued under registration number 00NGO/R1/00390.
Today
KIVIDEA continues to work through peer education, youth clubs, sports, creative arts, community engagement, and practical support.
