When school fees, learning materials, health concerns, family conditions or protection needs put attendance at risk, KIVIDEA responds with practical education support, mentoring, counselling and links to health insurance.

Who this is for
We work with the most vulnerable children and young people in Kigoma, along with their parents, guardians, and families.
Our approach
Working with young people
We combine emotional and practical support so a child can stay in school and their family can cope. Ongoing counselling runs alongside material help, and we work with parents and guardians so support continues at home.
Results
The difference so far
In the last reporting period:
All 120 children and young people receiving education support were also covered by health insurance.
A further 520 family relatives were included in health insurance as dependants.
School attendance, retention and transition among supported students was sustained at 97% (annual internal evaluation).
420 young people and families received counselling or guidance.
